- No driver’s license is required to rent a boat under 30 horsepower.
- The minimum age of the renter is 18 years old.
- The boat is inspected by the renter before departure. Any existing damages must be reported to the lessor before the rental begins.
- The boat is delivered with a full fuel tank. Fuel consumption during the rental period is charged to the customer and paid on-site upon return.
- The boat is insured against bodily injury and property damage resulting from collisions at sea involving third parties.
- The company bears no responsibility for loss or damage to the customer’s personal belongings during the rental period.
- The customer agrees and accepts:
- To return the boat in the same condition as received. Any damage caused to the boat or engine due to improper handling or negligence is entirely the customer’s responsibility.
- To return the boat before sunset. Early return does not entitle the customer to any refund.
- Not to allow any other person on board to operate the boat during the rental period.
- That the maximum distance from the shore must not exceed 2 nautical miles (2 N.M.).
Legislation
According to the General Port Regulation (G.P.R.) No. 38 regulating the chartering of motor boats and small speedboats:
Every rented boat must have a professional operating license (blue type, not the green amateur license).
The vessel’s license must clearly state, in red lettering, the phrase:
“CHARTERED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF GENERAL PORT REGULATION No. 38”.
Violators may be subject to fines of up to €40,000.
The lessor must provide each renter with:
(a) The original operating license of the leased vessel
(b) A copy of the insurance policy
(c) A certified copy of the rental permit
(d) Copies of General Port Regulations No. 20, No. 23, and No. 38 governing the movement and operation of motorized boats and speedboats
Weather Conditions & Nature’s Unpredictability
While we strive to provide an unforgettable experience, weather conditions may occasionally affect scheduled rentals.
Your safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are deemed unsuitable for boating, your reservation may be rescheduled for another day.
Boat rentals operate normally when wind intensity at the departure point does not exceed 4 Beaufort and local port authorities permit navigation.
In the event of adverse weather conditions preventing departure on the rental day, the full guarantee amount will be refunded, or the booking may be rescheduled subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy – Antonis Boats
- Standard Cancellation (48-Hour Notice) Full Refund (minus bank fees): Bookings cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time are eligible for a refund.
Refund Amount: 98% of the total amount will be refunded. The remaining 2% covers bank processing and administrative fees.
Late Cancellation: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure are non-refundable.
- Weather Conditions
If port authorities or the Antonis Boats team determine that weather conditions are unsafe for sailing (for example, due to strong winds):- Your booking may be rescheduled for another available date.
- If rescheduling is not possible, a 100% refund (including bank fees) will be issued.
- No-Show Policy
If the customer does not arrive at the agreed date and time without prior notice, the booking will be automatically cancelled and no refund will be provided.
